Is Your Home Business A Scam Or Not?

By Russell Howe

There are many companies out there which claim to be the best home based business opportunity on the internet. But one of the biggest areas of doubt among budding internet marketers is knowing how to check if an opportunity is genuine and safe before they jump in.

There are tens of thousands of genuine, legal and safe online businesses out there you can take your pick from, providing a means for thousands of people to build their family's income from the comfort of their home.

In today\'s video, Russ Howe teaches how to find the best home based business for you.

However, as you are probably very well aware, there are also countless opportunities which are not what they seem, too. For every great company there is an untrustworthy one. In fact, one of the main reasons why more people are not working online from the comfort of their own home is that the internet business industry in general has got a terrible reputation thanks to the number of bogus opportunities which have dogged it's name over the years.

We're talking about those fly-by-night, flash-in-the-pan multi-level marketing opportunities which arrive on the scene in a cloud of hype and buzz only to disappear within three months and be replaced by a newer, shinier next big thing.

Some of the problem sits on the shoulders of the people looking for an easy ride to success, of course. Even when they find a genuine company to work with they do not push themselves at all and as a result you will even notice well established companies such as Global Domains International being labelled as scams from time to time by bitter affiliates who didn't get the most from their opportunity.

In order to prevent future disappointment, it is highly important that you select an opportunity which is going to be long-term just like you are. It's no good switching programs every month and hoping to strike it lucky by being in the right company at the right moment.

These small details will help you to see if a company is safe and legal.

* The company should display a business license to prove it is genuine and real.

* The company should be products driven and approved by the Federal Trade Commission.

* Check the length of time the company has been up and running for.

MLM programs like to focus purely on their affiliate plans, this is a sure sign that they are going to provide a lackluster product which has no real value and, as a result, isn't worth joining because ultimately all members quit.

You should always have easy access to the materials which prove your potential opportunity is genuine. After all, given the amount of fear in the industry about being ripped off, if a company has acquired some genuine legal proof of it's safety it will want to boast about it.

One of the biggest factors in deciding upon the best home based business to build your future with is finding out whether it's legally registered and considered safe in your part of the world. If you cannot do that, then you should not join that particular program.
