First Pot Club In Colorado Closes In One Day

By Cornelius Nunev

After just one day of operation, the nation's first "pot club" has shut down in Colorado. It was one of two companies, which allow people to bring in their stash and consume it in a location which is not their house.

Lease worked incorrectly

Occasionally, numerous states will thumb their noses at the government by passing laws which run contrary to federal ones or to political stances taken by elected officials. One of the more recent efforts to flip off the federals was by voters in Colorado and Washington state, where voters approved popular initiatives to decriminalize recreational use of cannabis.

Decriminalizing, for those who don't recognize that there is a difference, is where a thing is lawful, but regulated. Legalization is the ablution of any regulation.

There were two "pot clubs" produced right away in Colorado to allow individuals to bring in and smoke their own weed in the place. The White Horse Inn is one of these clubs that violated his lease because he was so interested in opening shop in the short term schedule, according the Huffington Post.

Opened too early

It is still illegal in Colorado and Washington to sell cannabis, but you can purchase a membership to a pot club still. All you have to do is consume your own supply while in the club.

Club 64 was the other club that opened in Colorado, according to ABC, and it was named after Amendment 64 that is allowing the marijuana use. The White Horse Inn was the other option.

Unfortunately, the White Horse Inn opened, according to the Huffington Post, one day before its lease allowed it to, leading the building's owner to force the shop to close and evict Paul Lovato, owner of White Horse. Lovato was overeager to get the business running and violated the lease agreement.

Looking great for other club

When looking at the conditions of the contract, Lovato was certainly distracted.

Club 64 might really be a pretty good business. In fact, it does not have a permanent location. It rents out different areas and holds different events. Club members have to have ID proving they are 21 years old to purchase in, according to CNN, but it is only $29.99 to become a club member.

Denny's will probably make a ton of cash nearby selling food after participants are done.
