Making A Plan For A Christian Business Development Endeavor

By Elena McDowell

When one would want to go into Christian business development, then there are a lot more things to think of as compared to a normal business. First of all, his objectives and purpose would have to be in line with the ideologies of Christianity. Of course in order to do this, he would need a guide that will show him the ropes.

The first thing for one to do is to conceptualize what kind of store he would want to set up. Take note that he should consult his church before he sets up his store to see that if his enterprise would be parallel to Christian values. Some great ideas for stores that target this sort of market would be Bible stores or accessory stores.

Of course the conceptualization would be the hardest part of this process because this is where the core idea of the business will come out. In order to come up with some really great ideas, one can use the trends that can be found in a Christian business paper or journal. After reading the paper, he will be able to have more bright ideas on what his store will be like.

Aside from taking a look at the local paper, another thing that can be done would be to consult the internet. The internet is a haven for those who are seeking information from all over the world. In fact, one can even get in touch with other Christians over the web in order to seek for some advice or ideas.

Next on the list of things to do would be to make a business plan so that he knows what framework to follow. Unlike a regular plan, the owner will be involving partners like the church and its people. However, it is is like a normal plan in a sense that it has all of the essential elements in it.

The executive summary would include the objective and vision of the store. Next on the executive summary is the overview of the industry and how the enterprise would fit itself into that particular industry. Basically, this part would just give a short insight on what will be expected.

Next on the list would be the list of partners that one will be associating with. The first on the list would definitely be the church because most probably, the church will sponsor him. Next would probably be either the friends or family members.

Obviously the target market are Christians but even that segment needs to be broken down. One must ask himself what age group he is targeting and from what social class his customers are from. From there, he will be able to know how to market his list of products later on.

Probably one of the most important parts of Christian business development would be the formulation of a budget. The budget will be the guide that the owner and partners will use for the operations. However, no matter what the store owner does, he must always make sure that the store fulfills the purpose of the ideology of Christianity.
