How To Use Email Marketing To Create A More Profitable Business

By James Kupe

If you want to make a lot more money from your business, one of the easiest ways is to start using email marketing to follow up with your prospects and customers. Despite all the hype around Facebook and Twitter, the fact is email is STILL the most profitable way to talk with people online. If you aren't using email followup in your business effectively, you are probably leaving thousands of dollars on the table.

Email marketing really is a powerful way to grow your business, because in the past we couldn't follow up with prospects and do automated, pre-programmed sequences of communication for virtually no cost.If you wanted to follow up with your prospects in the old days, you had to call them on the phone, write them a letter, or visit them in person. Then you'd have to track everything on a database (or in a Journal!) so you knew where each person was in the sequence.

But these days you can simply use an autoresponder sequence that goes out on a pre-programmed schedule. Your readers receive a new message every few days in the order you'd like them to be received. And you can write and upload the entire thing one time and it runs in the background for you automatically.

Here's what you need to do to set up your email marketing system and get it working for you day in, day out -

Step 1 - If you haven't done so already, sign up for an autoresponder and create your account.

Step 2 - Sit down with a piece of paper or an open Word document, and write out the kind of conversation you'd love to have with your prospects if you could personally visit their home every few days. You should design your messages as a way of building a relationship with your readers, and showing them why your product or service can help them solve their problem.

You're not going to be able to get instant feedback or answer your reader's questions in person, so you'll need to imagine what questions they are going to have, and answer all of them as part of your email sequence. So write out that conversation, and create at least 7 autoresponder messages that will help you to build a relationship in the same way you would do it in person.

Step 3 - This is important. If you want to be successful at email marketing, you should start doing this IMMEDIATELY. If you don't get a autoresponder account and take the time to write out your messages right now, then you might forget and never get around to doing it - and that would be bad.

Every person who joins your email list is like money in the back. Every day you wait, it's costing you money. So you've got to go and do it right now. Grab an autoresponder and start setting up your sequence of email messages right now - you'll be so glad you did.
