Combining the NEW SEO and Social Signals

By Felipe Coogan

If your goal is to have a prosperous online business that utilizes search marketing, then you have to be knowledgeable about social signals.

Because of the Google penguin updates, a lot has been affected and things have changed. Many things have changed, but social signals have been impacted. Simply put, when you remove Google, not many things were affected. Keep in mind that people and webpage traffic has a lot to do with it. Most people have grown tired of seeing Facebook and Twitter, but they continue to have a huge popularity. Even though it does not get as much attention as Twitter and Facebook, Yelp is also a very popular site. The users of these sites like to talk about their different viewpoints. This is not a new concept, but it makes Google happy.

For internet marketers, it is no secret that it is very beneficial to keep things very simple for their prospective clients. Of course you comprehend the concept of placing loads of clicks in once process, which is known as click stream. If you want to increase your click stream, you may do it by using a link building tool like Ultimate Demon. The same thing happens when it comes to social media engagement and you use a lot of different widgets and share things. The follow button is a great example because you can now get an instant follow button. Whenever the button is clicked, someone is automatically following you. Or they can click a button and instantly like your page on Facebook. These days the freshest word around is engagement. These days you must focus heavily on social engagement or keep your visitors engaged.

There is no single way to add SEO to your site. First, your homepage and Facebook can be linked together. This is not the only thing that you can do. Then you can add plugins such as Fan Box. You should do something to engage social media. You might be doing this already with sites like Facebook. Get your brand name out there when you use social media. You could provide a lot of exposure for your domain name. If it is found to be sociable, then it should be tweaked so that it is easy to use. Just because it is optimized does not mean the exact things that are done for SEO.

Learn how to leverage infographics which is an area that is just in its infancy because you don't see them too much. Spend some time brainstorming (alone and with others) and define a few goals. The goals should be aimed toward the social but it is only natural to come up with advertising and marketing as well. But stick to the social goals you've come up with because those provide more of an incentive to meet them. Part of your plan should include steps you'll need to take to reach your goals. It's easy enough to write down your industry's major players and then keep an eye on the actions they take. Competitive intelligence gathering like this can give you all sorts of information. When you are done gathering information, just apply the things you have found out to your business if what you have learned is a good fit. Nobody talked about social signals at this time last year. It has always been known that social media marketing and SEO run hand in hand. The fabric of the two has become so tightly knit and now all that is left for you is to figure out how to use social signals to help you get better traffic and rankings.
