Old-fashioned Network Marketing vs Network Marketing Internet Business Today

By Jeromy Michaels

If you're aware of one of the longest established MLM businesses called Mary Kay, back when that company started there wasn't any Internet, everything was conducted on a face to face basis. Distributors would ask folk into their hoome, hold makeup demonstrations, doubtless have one or two cups of wine making the entire process a particularly social and personal affair.

Network marketing Internet business appears to be a impersonal process, but here's where most new network marketing experts are hanging out. People fail at Internet network marketing, because they don't understand that old concept of personal service. It's wonderful that many millions of people can be reached thru the Internet, where off-line network marketing was extremely limited, but wretchedly few new Internet promoters understand the idea of old-fashioned belly to belly marketing. They haven't ever been in a face-to-face sales situation and accordingly they have no clue what the term "attraction marketing" means.

It's not frightening, it's really quite simple. If someone likes you and trusts you they're going to buy from you. And that is precisely the same way as it was done with Mary Kay, Amway and all those other network marketing businesses that have stood the test of time. The Mary Kay representative driving around in her pink Cadillac is happy with her achievements, and you can absolutely sure she did not get that Cadillac by selling her buddies and family one or two bags of eye shadow!

So how can this old skool thought process of attraction marketing translate onto the Internet?

The concept behind attraction marketing is to help folks. Folks are on the Internet trying to find info. They are trying to find this information because they want something or have a difficulty. The Internet has made an exceptionally educated purchasing public, they'll research everything before they purchase anything by going on social media sites, posing questions in forums, reading articles and finding suitable internet sites.

This is absolutely the way your business should be. You have to be where those future customers are. It doesn't mean going on Twitter and posting "buy my product" every 10 minutes. You've got to gain people's trust by showing that you are an expert, and you really would like to help the struggling people answer their problem. That is online attraction marketing.

If you're new to the whole Internet network marketing business idea, the great thing about the Internet is there's lots of places you can advertise, and after you get your first few sales you should reinvest your earnings into your business by paying for advertising, potentially on social media sites like Facebook but don't rush off and do it now. Get a system in place first and follow it. All successful Internet network marketeers have followed a proven system.
