LinkedIn is one of the more superlatively powerful B2b marketing tools available to businesses today. LinkedIn gives you access to the world's largest professional network available on the internet, period. It certainly seems that no matter where you turn LinkedIn is in the news.

Talks of their growth and profitability run rampant but I'm here to tell you there are still many people trying to figure out just how to use LinkedIn to better their business. There are literally dozens of key tools that LinkedIn provides its users with but none may be more serviceable than the advanced people search.

The advanced person inspection area allows you to filter through LinkedIn's membership directory, pulling out members who you identify as having the possibility to be beneficial to your process. it is a markedly compelling tool and a necessary one for anyone wanting to maximize their results on LinkedIn. Before we get into the features of the advanced people search you need to realize what it is you are wanting to achieve with it. For most that means finding new prospects.

Who is it you long to market to? Who do you want to buy your product? Where do you think your buyers are located? What positions within other companies do you normally deal with? Couple that tactic with LinkedIn's search filters and you should be able to find a more highly targeted and propitious list of prospects that you will use to target your marketing efforts on.
